Date night tonight, and I'm not talking about company

Tonight I focused on a very special date... the day of my client's wedding, that is!

Here's a little update on how their save the date designs are coming along. 100% custom fit to their style, color scheme, and overall wedding planning.

SEA GRASS AND SEA GLASS.

Kirsin & Mike's cliff-side wedding at the #MartinJohnsonHouse in La Jolla this fall is going to be an ocean-lover's treat! Their obsession with the waves of the pacific ocean was all I needed to feel 120% inspired by the photos + direction of their wedding plans.

When I create Save the Date designs, I start by remembering all of the little things from the engagement shoot that the couple had mentioned- if they saw a specific idea spot that they were really excited about, or if they had talked about their wedding decor.

"Peace, Love and Gigs" is what my shirt says. I snagged it at #WeddingWire World 2014, and it's just really comfortable to wear around the house.

I try to fuse together as much as I can in one first draft, encouraging the couple to honestly tell me what they Love or Hate, which can help steer me in a more clearer direction.

Typography that I use comes from various places on creative websites. One of my favorite sites is the creative market, where fonts and graphics are very affordable. Also on that site is a very exciting deal section, where you can buy some really great vectors, fonts, and other styling tools for under $10!

Although couples can easily make their own Save the Date greetings on sites such as Vistaprint, WeddingPaperDiva's, Minted, and more, including this service in my wedding packages helps to keep one less thing that couples struggle with while planning. Also, I am able to compare prices from different labs to help give them the best deal in town.

At the end of the day, Dana Frames Photo + Design is always striving to complete a look & feel that resonates from the first invitation sent, throughout the wedding day decor, and until the Thank You notes are mailed. I love it when you can take a step back and watch every intricate detail fall perfectly in it's place for each unique wedding.
